  • Summary:The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) by the City of Harrisonburg, Virginia (City) is to solicit sealed proposals from interested Consulting Engineering Firms (Offeror) to develop a Solar Implementation Plan (Plan) by conducting a feasibility study for all City Municipal and School facilities to evaluate ground mounted, canopy, and roof top solar units.
    The study will consist of two (2) phases. Phase 1 will provide a desktop assessment of each site to summarize the feasibility and potential to add solar and provide a ranking based on metrics developed as part of this phase. Phase 2 will provide a detailed analysis of selected highly ranked locations including structural evaluation, power system modifications, and preliminary designs including schematic drawings and cost estimate. The specific number of evaluations included in Phase 2 will be determined with the selected Offeror during the development of the plan.
    This solicitation is being issued as a competitive negotiation for professional services, in accordance with Virginia Code 2.2-4302.2 A.4.
