- Summary: The City of Virginia Beach is soliciting Statements of Interest and Qualifications from interested firms to provide civil and coastal engineering services for the evaluation and replacement of the Rudee Inlet Weir. Services will include surveying, analysis, design, regulatory permitting, preparation of construction contract documents, and construction phase services. The analysis phase of this project will include a study that provides recommendations for the modification or replacement of the Rudee Inlet Weir. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the existing weir and terminal groin structure, constructed in 2005, and provide recommendations to modify or replace the weir and terminal groin structure to address inlet management deficiencies and provide opportunities to enhance the beach profile along the adjacent updrift shoreline of Croatan Beach.
