Summary:The Project or Work consists of modifications to the Shipps Corner Pressure Reducing Station located at 1633 Drakesmile Road in Virginia Beach, VA. These modifications include, but are not limited to, the removal of the existing power generator, replacement with a new larger generator (supplied by HRSD), replacement of the existing day tank system, structural modifications to the existing generator slab, new exterior concrete slab for new day tank and electrical and mechanical support modifications for new systems. Building modifications include demolition of the existing mansard roof and generator louver. The existing mansard roof contains asbestos – see supplied HAZMAT report prepared for the project. The building will receive a new exterior façade applied over the existing brick including Exterior Insulation Finishing Systems (EIFS) along with a parapet extension. Other work includes landscaping and fencing improvements.
