- Summary:The project (the “Project”) will re-envision and develop the Rudee Loop area into a community-based, world class, waterfront public park that offers an innovative vision for and authentic experience of coastal Virginia. The purpose of the project is to significantly enhance quality of life and inspire residents and visitors by celebrating the spirit and culture of Virginia Beach including surfing, fishing, outdoor recreation, and public events. The project area is an approximate 8-acre peninsula located adjacent to Rudee Inlet on the southern end of the Resort Area of the City of Virginia Beach. Rudee Loop is an assemblage of former retail, restaurant, hotel businesses and street network that is currently used primarily for surface parking and circulation.
