  • Summary:In accordance with Virginia Code § 15.2-2101 of the Code of Virginia (1950, as amended), the Town of Christiansburg proposes to adopt an Ordinance to grant a Solar Power Purchase Franchise to responsible solar photovoltaic system providers for the designing, engineering, building, operating, maintaining, and decommissioning turn-key installations of rooftop and/or ground-mount solar photovoltaic systems on publicly owned property. Such franchise shall be for a term of ¬¬ twenty-five (25) years. A copy of the proposed ordinance and template Solar Power Purchase Franchise Agreement is on file in the Town Manager’s Office and is available for public review.

    All responsible solar photovoltaic system providers are invited to bid to enter into such a non-exclusive franchise with the Town of Christiansburg. All bids shall be in writing and must be received by the Town by February 27, 2024 at 12:00 noon in the Town Manager’s office located at 100 East Main Street, Christiansburg, Virginia. Further information is available in the Town Manager’s Office, (540) 382-6128 ext. 1114. The Town of Christiansburg reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
