  • Summary:The purpose of this Request for Written Proposals (RFWP) by the City of Harrisonburg, Virginia (City) is to solicit written proposals from eligible persons or groups (referred to as contractor, service provider, or Offeror) to provide educational courses in best business practices for existing and prospective family day home and center-based child care businesses. Participants will learn how to use best business practices as a tool to increase their business’s sustainability and profitability. Courses will be offered in a cohort format, and a minimum of three (3) cohorts with a maximum of twenty (20) participants per cohort will be graduated during the engagement period. City residents must be prioritized in the cohort formation process, and the participation costs for non-city residents may not be funded with the City of Harrisonburg’s ARPA funding. The course will be offered by the contractor at no cost to any City residents interested in start-up of a child care business or any operators/employees of existing family day home child care businesses or a child day care centers located in the City.
