The Intent of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is for the County of Loudoun, Virginia (County) to obtain the services of a qualified General Contractor to restore approximately 3,125 linear feet of an unnamed tributary to the Potomac River and approximately 933 linear feet along five (5) outfall channels that discharge into the unnamed tributary through the use of Rosgen Natural Channel Design (NCD) techniques. The project limits begin at a 10’x10’ quadruple-box culvert underneath Algonkian Parkway and end at a sanitary sewer easement. There is one (1) pedestrian bridge crossing and five (5) intermittent channel inflows along the proposed restored reach. The project is located between River Bend Middle School and Potomac Falls High School. The project limits encompass three (3) separate parcels, with two (2) of the parcels being owned by the Loudoun County School Board and the remaining third being owned by the Countryside Home Ownership Association.
The General Contractor shall be responsible for the safety and security of neighboring residents, Loudoun County staff, and the public throughout the project construction phase. The River Bend Stream and Outfall Restoration is located within a residential area and adjacent to two (2) schools therefore, adherence to all local and state ordinances for work hours and noise levels shall be strictly enforced.
Pre-Bid Conference:
A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the project site located between River Bend Middle School and Potomac Falls High School (Refer to the map in Attachment 7) on April 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. for clarification of any questions on the drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
