The City of Williamsburg and its African American Heritage Trail Advisory Committee seek an experienced research contractor to develop the narrative and site details of the City’s proposed two-mile downtown African American Heritage Trail. This contract work will include the development of an overarching narrative of the trail, the selection of sites to include on the trail, the selection of sites to include within walking distance of the trail, and the drafting of descriptions and audio scripts for each of the sites.

Qualifications:
|
• MA in African American history, preferred. MA in American history, or a related field acceptable. BA in similar fields with extensive research experience may be considered.
• Must be able to have a lead representative if a firm is selected.
• Completion of at least three independent research projects
• Work and experience with community input
• Excellent writing and communication skills
