The City of Williamsburg requests proposals to develop, manage, and execute one signature event during one of its shoulder seasons of spring, fall, and late winter. Signature events help to amass recognition and reverence from the outside world, thus bolstering vitality and economic growth within the locality. Through innovative marketing and storytelling, the event should attract and engage with a broad, yet diverse audience who want to experience not only the event itself, but also the host community.
The event is to be geared toward attracting local, regional, and national visitors and generating overnight stays in the City of Williamsburg; improving quality of life for existing residents and serving as a reason to visit for tourists.
The City is interested in events, concerts, and festivals that would include performing and visual arts, food and beverage, cultural and/or sports and recreation. The City is interested in new and unique events that reflect the City’s vision and history.

Written documents are required and additional media formats are accepted as supplemental material.
a) Respondents are requested to provide an overview of your company and staff, areas of specialization, and number of years in operation.
b) Provide a minimum of two (2) recent examples of success in event planning, preferably for a destination.
c) Respondents should include any special circumstances or capabilities that you would like the City to know about your company.
d) Include a brief statement about any key relationships that your company has that might bring value (sponsorships, media exposure, access or otherwise) to achieving the objectives of the event.
e) Provide a complete overview of your proposed event idea or ideas. Multiple event options are accepted.

PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCES
Two virtual Pre-Proposal Conferences will be held: Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time and Wednesday, November 30 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Email Joanna Skrabala at jskrabala@williamsburgva.gov for an invitation to attend one or both of these meetings.
