Description
Performance Work Statement Installation of Cellular Signal Boosting System
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Montgomery VA Regional Office, 345 Perry Hill Road, Montgomery, Alabama is seeking to have equipment installed to boost cellular signal inside the office building. This equipment will aid employees during emergencies, safety, or security needs, whereas now employees cannot receive or make phone calls, send/receive text messages, or emails when they are in the dead zone areas.
Project Scope of Work:
The contractor shall install, a neutral carrier cellular amplification system capable of receiving signals from the four major cellular companies and rebroadcasting into the facility.
The system shall consist of at a minimum an amplifier with low profile antennas spaced carefully throughout the facility to increase cellular signals in low or dead signal areas. Measurable: Ensure amplifiers and antennas are installed per design.
All antennas shall be mounted on non-penetrating roofs mounts, a rubber mat must be placed underneath these mounts. Concrete blocks may be used so that it minimizes movement of the equipment. All exterior cables shall be constructed of or insulated from weather elements. Measurable: Mounts are properly assembled, and cabling is weatherproof.
All electrical components shall be routed through surge protection devices to reduce electrical damage or in the event of a power surge to help aid in protection of the equipment. Measurable: Surge protection installed, also all work shall be done in accordance with NFPA 70 NEC. All Equipment shall have FCC certification prior to installation. The installation task will include but not limit to assembling the non-penetrating roof mounts, installing the outdoor antennas, and aiming them for signal strength, installing and terminating all cables, connectors, coupler, and splitters. Measurable: Proper installation of all system components.
Upon completion of the installation of all system components, the vendor shall commission the system and perform a test of the equipment and verify that cellular signals are being transmitted through-out each area of the building. Measurable: System operational as per manufacturers specifications and signals recorded at acceptable levels per design.
Cellular readings shall be taken before and after the equipment is installed to verify external cellular signal strength is being rebroadcasted throughout the facility.

Working Hours
Working hours for this project will be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding federal holidays.
Warranty
The vendor shall provide a twelve (12) month labor and material warranty from the acceptance of the installation.
