In 2020, a Sports Tourism ad-hoc committee was formed as a function of the Winchester-Frederick County Tourism Board. An initial sports tourism feasibility study was completed by Destination Consultancy Group in mid-2021, and a separate detailed analysis of the area has begun and will conclude in mid-October 2022. That analysis will provide a recommendation on existing and potential sports and activities to focus on and will act as the guiding research for the branding and marketing covered by this URFP.
