  • Description:The University seeks to retain a Construction Manager to join our team during construction document development phase to provide constructability review, scheduling scenarios, logistics coordination, value management, design assist, early bid package assistance and to provide full construction services for the University in accordance with the provisions of the University of Virginia Higher Education Capital Outlay Manual. The project consists of construction of a new hotel and conference center that will serve the University and the broader local community. The University has determined that Competitive Sealed Bidding is not practicable or fiscally advantageous; therefore, the contract will be awarded as a Construction Management at Risk with Design Phase Services as the project delivery method. The Project consists of a hotel with 225 guestrooms with a 10% suite count for a total of 260 guestroom bays and contains 25,000 NSF of Conference Center space. The overall size of the Project is approximately 220,000 GSF. The University would like to explore the feasibility of adding a Visitor’s Center to the program along with a pedestrian bridge over the adjacent railway to connect to the Athletics Area of North Grounds just to the north of the hotel site. Construction is anticipated to begin February 2021 and must be complete by June 2023.
